ADSL Statistics

Hi

I dont know if this is possible, but is there anyway to get hold of some ADSL stats, like the amount of current ADSL users in SA, how many are bussiness and how many are home users, as well as how many of these ADSL users are signed up with say Tiscali, MWEB, etc.

Telkom has most most of the stats you're interested in but they have not made it available to the public as far as I know.

I am not sure they will find it strategically sane to reveal their true userbase tally at the moment. A total figure would however be known by Telkom who might as well reveal all...

I though I read on this forum somewhere that there is around 15 to 16000 users on ADSL so far, could that be correct?

I doubt whether that can be backed up by fact at this point.

I don't believe it's that much - why then would they only conduct a survey of +-1,000 users? That's 6.25% of the entire ADSL population. That's no fair survey.

I think it's 12,000 max. They're trying to punt an underrated service by inflating figures, a common practice amongs sly companies such as Hellkom. If only their DSL quality was as awesome as their Diginet offerings. THAT's a good service.

Can't we use it to get such info?
