ADSL Telephone Line

Hey Everyone

Is is possible to get the analog (Voice) aspect of my ADSL line blocked from dialing out.

I have never had to do this before so just wondering what the procedure would be to block outgoing calls.

If I do get the outgoing calls blocked, does this mean there will be no additional costs from telkom other than the standard line rental and adsl rental.

I am helping out a friend by signing up for the ADSL account because they are foreigners (Students). So they would like to recieve calls from outside the country. I dont mind this, but I dont want them calling out on the line and then I get stuck with the bill.

So this way we would both win.

Check out telkom blockcall plus service http://www.telkom.co.za/athome/services/blockcallplus/index.html . Of coarse this is Telkom so you have to pay to block calls on top of your line rental and adsl line rental.

no what he means is, prepaid for the nomal service and monthly contract for the adsl. Instead of monthly contract for both.

but you can get pre paid packages from isp's such as web africa, i think he's talking about a pre paid line

Yeah, I was refering to a prepaid voice line only. Not prepaid ADSL rental or prepaid ISP subscriptions.
