Hi all.

I dont know if I am just lucky or what, but I rebuilt my machine this past weekend. I have the daily email option set on for my ADSL usage. On friday my ADSL usage email said I had used 126.63mb. I rebuilt my machine (OS XP professional), registered and updated. I think part of an update was related to marconi drivers, but cannot confirm because to be honest I just clicked on update all. Now when I re-install the drivers from the disk Telkom supplied it says the driver on my system is newer than the one on my machine. Which is fine. However every ADSL usage email I have received since friday reads usage of 126.63mb. I also know that they had the problem with the hardware in NY and had replaced that. Now I would like to know if anyone else has been tracking their usage and have also experienced the same hickup, ie their tracker doesn't work or if my new driver did something which makes it impossible for Telkom to track my ADSL usage. [:D] (We can only hope.)

Of course I don't look busy.....I did it right the first time.

The tracker has been reporting 112 MB usage since Saturday here.

From past experience it may continue to do this for a week or two and suddenly kick in with the full usage. So take it easy.[8D]

Same here. I "apparently" havent used any bandwidth since April 1st.

If these guys can't even get their usage report to work properly, how much hope do we have of a decent ADSL connection?

It just blows my mind what a useless bunch Telkom is.

It would be great if they don't add the missing usage to our monthly total, but we all know they will. It's quite ridiculous that we have to count every byte we use but when they don't offer us the tools to do just that, it becomes increasingly frustrating. Yes, I do use software on my machine to keep track of my usage, but Telkom's graph is ALWAYS more.

So we're really in a no win situation with these idiots.

Hmm, I hsven't used anything since the 2nd. Now the real question is can we hold them to that usage when they say we're capped?

Maybe we can all expect to see 1000GB usage in the next day or so![:D]

Use your own usage tracker.

Here's one:

I got ADSL yesterday and this morning my usage tracker claims that in the entire day I have used only 0.6275MB or something like that... very small decimal points...

I can't have used 620MB, impossible, but I'm very sure I've used about 30 or 40 MB...

Is it broken again?

Well, I am capped - according the usage tracker I downloaded 2.8 Gig on the 15th (I was downloading .iso files from a ftp server in the UK but to my calculations it is only about 1.3 Gig.)

So, there is defenitely something wrong with their calculations - and I will have to wait 2 weeks before I can do something usefull with this line !!!![V]
