Hi guys.

I have silly question. But cant find any real answer on the web.

I currently have 10mb Adsl line real download speed is 1-1.2 mbps on a good day. What is the real download speed of fibre of also a 10mb fibre line??

Surely those results are to a local server and in all likelihood the OP would be downloading from int server...

Firstly know the difference between Mbps and MBps. And then understand download speed will be the same.

Just cos you got a new hosepipe doesn't mean you can send more water through it.

Possibly, that's the Google Wifi app not sure if it uses local or international for speed tests.

Show a screenshot so we know which speeds you are talking about.

On speedtest I will get 40Mbps thus on torrents downloading a Linux ISO I will get ~4.1MB/sec

10mbps is 10mbps, won't be faster, just because you got fibre. Web surfing will be more responsive, but that is due to the decrease in latencies.

I had a 10mb ADSL line and got 1.2MB/sec max
I now have a 10mb fibre line and get.....1.2MB/sec max!
:O

:)

no difference there.
I do get a 5mb upload speed now as opposed to 1mb on ADSL....
Oh and my fibre package is saving me R200+- a month over Telkom(Landline+ADSL)+ISP
So there is that benefit too..

My 20Mbps DSL and the fiber I have now is not much different. Due to low latency, browsing feels more snappy, and of course the uploads are now also 20Mbps.

All in all, I don't 'feel' much of a difference.
