Hi I have just cancelled my Datapro account due to untold account billing screwups, so now am looking at getting an adsl account, but one that also has wireless capability. I know Axxess hook you up with this t-zone thingy in certain areas, and Axxess are a 'well thought of isp' here so that is certainly one of my opitions.
Anyone have experience with this or other ISP's as I do travel a lot for work and being able to hookup at airports/hotels using a wireless capable laptop is a big plus for me.
MWEB also had a wireless side to their accounts, is it the same as t-zone or better, they are very pricey though.
So if there are any others besides Axxess let me know, thx.

I would recommend Axxess, they are very good, although I never used the t-zone things ...

If you need mobility, GPRS/EDGE is an alternative, although it is a bit slow, but it has the ultimate coverage (besides a satellite of course). To use GPRS you need a GPRS enabled cell phone and bluetooth on both your cell phone and your laptop (most newer ones do have both GPRS and bluetooth out of the box) and it is relatively cheap if you don't download large files.

T-Zone:
As far as I know (from what I could get from the Telkom website) They give a certain amount of time to DSL 512 Clients at their T-Zone hotspots. Because its to DSL512 clients, it doesnt matter who your ISP is. It's about your line.
Mweb gives 300 mins free airtime at their hotspots to their dial-up/ADSL clients. Its a painless procedure, have tested it.

I have 512 adsl. and icon is my main isp, Datapro was my backup cause I needed more than 3 gigs a month. I have only cancelled the one account.
Telkom is not my isp, so I dont have access to the t-zones, is that statement correct, although I do have a 512 adsl line.

ask Icon maybe ... not sure, according to rellik you should have t-zone access at the present ... seeing that you have 512 kbps line

I did ask icon when Mweb took them over, but got an emphatic NO.(was a while ago, might of changed now)

My aim is to try an get an isp that offers the obvious adsl512 account, but also has some wireless capability in the major cities, rather than having extra accounts that all just cost extra money.
