Adult sites and hosting in south africa

Hi!

Quick question that I am having some trouble finding a concise answer to.

I started researching options to potentially start a website of an adult nature but I want to make sure I am in the green in terms of south african laws etc.

I came upon the law that said: South African hosting companies are not allowed to host porn or adult content due to our Film and Publications act which states that this stuff can only be viewed or sold from a licensed institution operating from a Physical location as there is no true way of verifying that the person accessing the content online is in fact over 18.

So this I assume make it illegal to have a site hosted in South Africa, my question is then if I have a site that is hosted internationally with a foreign hosting site but managed from South Africa, then this should be fine and completely legal right?

Thanks in advance for any advice on this matter.

Is the content an adult service for South Africans, or is it content that's available to anyone in the world?

The moral law is more important than the positive civil law. Don't do it. For your own sake as well.

Finally! PM me as soon as it's up and running.
And I will PM you when my magazine sees the light of day too... I will be honest, I do need help. Content is time-consuming to produce if you're all on your own

:D I'll buy one.

Magazines don't have incognito mode though. I'll have to explain to the GF why I bought it (she won't mind the content, but she will wonder why I spent money on it).

Thanks that's what I'm trying to establish, so I can just host with a big international host and all of this cease to be an issue?

So just SA hosts will be off limits?
Pretty much, tho not all hosts even international allow adult, so just check but normally as long as the content is legal then no issues.
