Greetings

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone here can offer some advice that would help me become a qualified electrician.

Back in 2010, I was interested in this path and managed to acquire a NQF Lvl 2 in Electrical Heavy Current. After that, I was convinced that I needed to secure an apprenticeship to proceed in my studies. Unfortunately, I was stonewalled by the fact that I just could not find anyone willing to offer me this. I eventually managed to accumulate one and a half years of work experience through two of my father's friends. By this point, though, I didn't think that this was going to work out and decided to stop pursuing this career and started studying towards an accounting qualification.

In recent times, I've been thinking that I made a mistake in dropping the Electrician qualification and I'm considering pursuing it again, hopefully without the problems I had last time. Thus, I would like some hints or advice on how I can secure an apprenticeship or where I can go to get this. Alternatively, if anyone knows about ways I can become a qualified electrician without doing an apprenticeship, that would also be great. A college in Pinetown I'm currently attending wants to offer such a course but has been having trouble with accreditation. Finally, I live in Durban and I would prefer it if I don't have to move, though I do appreciate any replies I get regardless.
