As the title says, i need some advice.

Both TV's are around the same price at the moment for 65"
I've seen reviews on both, but the LG, i can't seem to find anything on the nano 79 models.

Which of the two would be best for good color, watching sports and series and movies. I don't play games on the TV
Current tv is the Samsung 50" KU7000 Smart 4K UHD TV

LG R13,999 on special
Samsung R12,999.00 special
why not go for the Q70T on special for R12 999 at Makro

Much better specs - just smaller in size - 55"

Distance from the couch to TV is 4.4m
55" won't be great and i have a 50" currently. I do love the Q70 and at that price. But the size feels like i'd be disappointed, my current tv feels far and small at the moment

Yeah I've also been dead set on a 65" but cannot find something in that price range that has HDMI 2.1 and 120hz refresh rate.

Was going to go for the 65" Q60T but it's so basic

The samsung is a pretty basic VA panel, built well and the OS isnt bad either. But don't expect any magic from it. At that price it just "does" the job.

Possibly, but the issue with that LG panel is it uses IPS, so contrast and darks arent as good. If you watch movies at night with the lights low/dim the Samsung would be better. If you primarily watch sports and news during the day the LG would be better.

Go LG. My Samsung packed up after 2 years. Got a 55" LG now, it's way better.

Oky Game had both tvs close to each other.

The LG nano79 had more deeper colors and seems to have better color accuracy.
The samsung had a slightly better color than my current tv, but seems to have a sharper image than my tv and was slightly brighter than the LG.

I'm leaning towards LG for the popping colors and i believe it has a 120hz panel ( EDIT, Im wrong it's 60hz as well ) compared to 60hz on samsung.

Watching sports and tv shows would be great on the LG

I'm struggling with the same decision , game also has the 70UN7070 for R14999 but none of the stores I visited had it on display .

It's really difficult to find any info on the NANO79 and UN7070 . I currently have an LG that's 8 years old and never gave me any trouble so I would like to go with LG again .

So the LG UN7070 was on display at the Game i was at, looked pretty much the same as the samsung, with some slight color difference. Could be because of the IPS vs VA panels.
The Nano tv stood out for sure against it's samsung rival and the UN7070 model.

Maybe check Incredible Connection. They had a few LG's on display as well

Bitting the bullet today

At Kloppers for R15 999, but lied and said there's another place in George that has is for R 500 less. Long story short, getting my 65" for R 15 000 at 12pm :D

Kloppers had all the tvs we saw on this forum. My luck, the one's i was looking for. The Q60T 66"
Lg Nano 65" and hisense 65q8600.

The hisense was at 720p on dstv and still had more popping colors, better blacks, brighter as well. Was the best looking to.

The bigger brother of this tv, jbl soundbar version was R 21k.
I've got a soundbar, so im not paying extra for the same tv panel with a soundbar attached
