The LG 65NANO79 is being sold for R14 000 at House and Home. I saw the more expensive Samsung Q60t besides it and the Samsung looked better. But LG had better colors the contrast was soo bad. Like the dark areas on lets say a soccer player were soo dark. I’m sure you’re would have to tinker with settings but the magic remote on LG is amazing (you can select stuff on screen by points on the screen with remote, its like a Samsung Note pen type of thing but with a mouse kind of usage) By the way for those that don’t know LG has like 3 main panels.
1.The standard UHD panels that usually have a UN in their name where the U is maybe for UHD and the Letter goes up by the year So if N is 2020 then O is 2021.
2.The Nano panels. Basically the same panels but with a bit of magic glitters on the top to make the colors pop, plus those extra features. You pay a more for this panel. And it does look waay better. The names go as LG 65NANO79. So the first 65 is the size, the nano is for those tiny nano crystals on top, and the 79 is the variant, think of it like the Samsung naming system on their A series PHONES, for each year they have a range of A10 to A90 or something so the higher the number the better the phone same goes for that last number on the LG so for the LG 65NANO97 it’s actually an 8K TV.
3.The OLED panels. The best panels out there. They have individual pixels that actually light up. So Blacks are true blacks and LG has the best OLED panels out there. These have issues like they won’t be as bright as the normal panel(this includes the NANO), they are more expensive, and burn in (If you watch a show where like a small icon appears on same spot a lot, then when you change channels it still slightly appears then there is your burn in, sometimes if it stays too long it can be permanent. And of course these panels are super expensive, because they are expensive to make. But in terms of everything else they dominate without a question. For the naming system they range from BX, CX, GX, RX, WX, ZX. I’m sure i left something but yeah. The higher the first letter the better the TV. But in this list CX is your go to and the best bang for buck. The above rest will cost $3000 depending on size to $20 000 USD.
I'm struggling with the same decision , game also has the 70UN7070 for R14999 but none of the stores I visited had it on display .
It's really difficult to find any info on the NANO79 and UN7070 . I currently have an LG that's 8 years old and never gave me any trouble so I would like to go with LG again
