Hi all.

Looking to get a car, what are your guys opinions/advice on the above. Gonna be trying to test drive them in the coming months. Leaning slightly toward the ford fiesta, looks damn sexy.

The grand i10 looks to be the best value for money on paper.

Ideas?

Also, how do these car fair as used? Anyone got them used and have major problems?

My preference from best to worst:
Fiesta, i20, Grand i10 and then Figo

I think I'd go in this order too.

Cool. As I said, I'm leaning toward the Fiesta at the moment. Weighing the options of a new Fiesta 2015 vs a low milage older model. Perhaps 2012 or newer.

If I had to be forced with these 4 then yes I would go in that order as well.

If it was my list I would add the Polo; 2; Clio.

Would that be the Polo Vivo?

No ways; not the Vivo; it would be Polo; Polo. The real McCoy.

Now that the f/lift is out maybe you can score a deal on the pre-f/lift models.

Yes they will prob be more than a newer model a Fiesta/i20 but you are getting a quality; reliable car that will hold it value better than all the others.

Cool. Thanks. Will add to the list as well.

How's the resale value on Ford Fiesta's?

Fairly good; yr for yr will be better than the Hyundai B-segment competitors.

The Fiesta do get is the f/lift models.

The pre-f/lift can be picked up rather keenly these days if you really want to score though.

Pre-facelift being older than 2013?

Also, and forgive my ignorance, can one still pick up new older face models from dealerships or would it have to be used. Secondly, do you reckon a low millage fiesta (2012-2015) would be worth it?

Yup 2013.

You will not be able to pick up the pre-f/lift models 2nd hand.

And yes if it was my money in this segment the petrol model Fiesta; ideally in Ambiente or Titanium spec; would be in my top 2 choice.

I won't be able to? So this means I can pick them up new? Haha, I am very confused now.

Gonna be test driving the Ambiente tomorrow hopefully.

The pre facelift models; prior to 2013 cannot be purchased new; if you want to down this route it needs to be 2nd.

The facelift models; big Aston Martin grill; can be purchased new.

The interior of both derivatives is still very similar though.

Bought my Facelift Fiesta brand new, I have the 1.4 Trend and have had it since Jan 2014, I love my car to bits, hasn't given me a days trouble, but if I were you I would buy something second hand, you can get them at a much better price with 15k km on them and they will still not give any hassles and have all the warrantees and service plans in place. I would really suggest the 1.0 ecoboost or the diesel. If you have to buy new, I think the 1.0 Ambiente is the best buy, it's still got all the niceties that one would need and includes that firecracker of an engine :)

Do you mean the 1.4 Ambiente? The more I think about it, the more attractive the option of a second hand looks. Getting prices around 150K for a 2014 1.4 Ambiente with around 30K on the clock. Sound good?

Ford had an offer of R164000 for a new 1.4 Ambiente. It was one of their blue sky offers for last month. Talk to one of the dealerships regarding this offer.
