I've been checking out some "Business-Class" ADSL routers on the web lately. Just for interest's sake mostly, but I was wondering if anyone on the forum has had experience with these.
For example, the 3Com 3040 - http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=features&pathtype=purchase&sku=3C13640
Or Cisco's 830 series - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/ps4874/index.html
The reason I ask is because I manage a campus network providing access to approximately 400 users (not all at once) over two 4mbps ADSL lines. Performance is actually very good and I've always accepted that the two routers I'm using (Netgear DG834's) are doing the job just fine. But seeing as there are these business-class routers, will they do the job better?
My guess is that they would simply offer better VPN capabilities and more advanced firewalling (which I do using ISA server anyway)?
Anyway, if you've used something like this, please comment.
