Hi All,

I am extremely worried at the moment as I lost our UNNABRIDGED marriage certificate.
I have 3 certified copies made by the Post Office in London on 14 June 2013.

Does anyone know If I can apply for another one?
I would be forever grateful if you could help me with any advice.

From the Department of Home Affairs website: http://www.home-affairs.gov.za/index.php/marriage-certificates

Any additional abridged copies or unabridged copies of the marriage certificate can be requested by:

Completing Form BI-130 in black ink and submitting it to the nearest office of the Department of Home Affairs or to the nearest South African embassy, mission or consulate abroad
Paying the prescribed fee
The first issue of an abridged marriage certificate is free, and a re-issue is R15.00

Just apply for it through Home Affairs. You will need a photocopy of the marriage register, i.e. the form that you, your wife, the witnesses and the marriage officer signed plus a filled in application form. I have done it a few times, it takes a while but you will get it no problem.
