advice please

cancelled my contract 3 weeks ago.... no problems. they refunded me my signup R500, so far they not carrying on deducting.... holds thumbs

however

i can still access my sentech email address thru mail.sentech...

ive begged, ive pleaded, theyve got 3 people (and potgieter) trying to close down my email address, its taken 3 weeks and nobody can seem to close it.

i want it closed immeaditaly coz i have no control over anyone using my name and my email for whatever... hey all you IT boys out there, how difficult is it to close a friggen email address??

I can't really comment on how Sentech's mail is setup (because I have not had a look at theirs), but in my configuration it is as simple as deleting an entry from a database and the server will stop receiving for the email (also my configuration requires authentication on send, sending with the username will no longer be possible once the account is deleted).

after deleting the database entry (should take all of about 10 seconds to do) I would then need to delete the mail on the server that I was storing for the user (obviously this has nothing to do with actually deleting the account, it is just a cleanup operation to free up space on my server). This would also take a very short time to do.

When I worked for an ISP, it was a couple of shell commands...but then again that was on a system that was efficient []

well here it is typing in Username click submit click delete [or suspend/pw change] only mail in the intranet can hit the server un authenticated all mail relay from internet must be authenticated ...

not difficult at all ill be able to replicate the server in 45mins so why oh why sentech are you so farqing useless
