HI guys

I got a new CPU and now I have put it into the board, now on the CPU fan, it
has something stuck on it, should I remove the sticker and then stick the fan to the CPU or must it(sticker) be left intact

Thanks

A sticker? It should be Motherboard > CPU > Thermal Paste > Heatsink > Fan

Edit: I think I know what you are talking about, I think what you mentioning is something so you can align the thermal paste correctly. Maybe someone can correct me

Sounds like a protective cover for the heatsink (which you must remove) - like with the AMD 64. What CPU is this? Stock heatsink?

Is that not the thermal pad on the heatsink? Is it a grey patch? If so, no need for thermal compound or whatever, just don't mess the pad up.

Agreed! If it is a square of grey stuff it is the thermal goo - leave it!

Leave it. Its the thermal compound. Put the cpu on the m/b, connect it all up and leave it alone.
