Affordable new Rain uncapped 5G package for R499 per month

I was on the standard 30mbs 720p package, which was okish.

Now for the free bump to 50mbs and 1080p

But I have to say those were not empty promises when they promised to bump up their service, the current turn around time on queries I have logged has dropped significantly, not the best (comparing to when I had fibre)but not bad either.

They quality of the network has also improved alot over the last few months.

The glory days are coming to an end that’s for sure. This aggressive rollout by rain can only be good for competition. Over to you MTN and Vodacom.

Does the video throttling still share a global limitation (along with VPN).
When I still had Rain and on the standard package, you basically had ~5 mbps to share between Dstv, Netflix, VPN, Youtube at any given point, which kinda sucked.

Having have had Vumatel fibre, and moving to CellC Home Connecta Flexi prepaid , this offer from Rain would be my next stop if CellC discontinues Home Connecta Flexi.

Anything under R500 is cool for my data usage for the usual streaming options, and general use.

Didn't you cancel Rain 5G? Why, if so?

Saw a thread you created regarding cancellation issues.

Ha, I was still planning to make a thread on that and update my original Rain thread when I first got it.

It’s not all doom and gloom, fibre just came to my area and was basically a no effort option to switch to.

As an advanced user the C-NAT Rain uses was annoying as I couldn’t host my own services which was the main appeal of going to fibre.

Connection wise I can honestly say it’s really much of a muchness and I actually get less peak download speeds for the same money. Upload is better though but a rare use case.
