AfriForum’s campaign demanding the removal of Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi from office began on Wednesday with an online petition calling for his removal.
The minority-rights organisation said it would also hand over a memorandum to Gauteng premier David Makhura at his offices in the Johannesburg CBD on Thursday, in which it will ask that Lesufi be dismissed.
Before handing over the memorandum, AfriForum said it will start by laying criminal charges at the Johannesburg Central police station relating to the education department’s alleged misappropriation of more than R900m.

AfriForum announced on Tuesday that it would launch its campaign to remove Lesufi when it responded to a statement by the department that 14,000 grade 1 and grade 8 learners had not been placed in schools.

The department outlined measures it would take to ensure that the remaining 14,617 prospective grade 1 and grade 8 pupils were placed in schools by the end of the month. It said it was working with “high-pressure zone” schools to increase their classroom capacity to accommodate more pupils.

What a monumental waste of time. The mere fact it's Afriforum driving and not some Education NGO means it will never happen. We all know Afriforum's beef with him and it has nothing to do with school admissions and people will see through it imo.

Even if you think Afriforum are a pack of Nazis, it doesn't change the fact that Lesufi is completely unfit to hold his office.
However, the MEC of Gauteng department of education this week scored low marks after it emerged that his department had failed to set up proper financial controls.

This after he revealed this week that his department recorded an irregular expenditure of a whopping R1,2-billion in the 2018/19 financial year as a result of tender irregularities, among other things.

Then 6 years to put together a website with a bunch of outdated software?

what is afriforums beef with him then? Have you considered that the MEC crusade against Afrikaans maybe has something to do with? The chop has an unadulterated hatred for white people.

So you agree with Sox? It has nothing to do with admissions but everything to do with the ongoing beef between them.

If Sox position is that Lesufi has a great hatred for white people and a love for there German automobiles and has a massive hardon for Afrikaans that no one really understands, then yes I do agree with him.
