Hey guys, welcome to the dedicated Afrihost Capped DSL feedback thread! :D

We're testing a new dedicated Afrihost Support Forum in and attempt to better manage, respond to and consolidate your feedback.

Similar to the old "New Network Feedback Thread", we'll be encouraging feedback on our DSL network right here. We've decided to split it up into a Capped DSL feedback thread and an Uncapped DSL feedback thread, because we know that the needs, priorities and complaints from clients in each camp are slightly different and we'd like you to be able to compare your experience with others as well as report back on your individual experience in a fair space.

If you have any problems or complaints regarding service, your account, line issues or any other support related query (Hosting included), we'd like to encourage you to start a new thread in this sub-forum and we'll tackle it right away. The whole idea is to provide you with the best forum support possible! :)

On that note, please check out our Community Guidelines to make this a safe space for everyone!

Welcome to the Afrihost Support Forum!

Hi Afrifella,

I'm looking at your capped data, but not quite sure why there is so many different prices for the same amount of Data.

Yeah, this does look a little confusing... :wtf: I've logged it with our Dev Team to look at.

It looks like you're trying to sign up for a new package. In the meantime, I think it's best to do this via the order form on our website, and not via ClientZone. :)

Hi Afrifella,

Will do, I'm planning on joining at the end of Feb, as my Debit order has already went through for next month. Thanks in advance.

Hi Sir/Madam

I'm still having trouble with my line which should be 8Mbps because that's what the Afrihost invoice tells me but speed test and usage tells me another story:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 4877 kbps (609.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 622 kbps (77.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 76 ms
Jitter: 2 ms
1/30/2017, 4:58:37 PM

Is there any possible way to ever fix this or am I forever doomed with my line syncing lower than it should.

That's not great at all! :(

I'll need to check what the actual DSL Line sync looks like, could you please PM me your DSL Line number.

Got to love the shaping... Pathetic, useless, Internet - as always. Each, and every, damn night.

sorry to hear you feel that way. :( Are you currently using a Shaped Capped account? Have you tried comparing it to an Unshaped Capped account to see if your issue is indeed shaping?

I'm still waiting to for AH reps to be more specific about the supposed changes that were made to the network that were meant to improve things.

Network still sht every night! Paying for unshaped capped but getting shaped night after night.

When are the IPC upgrades coming?

We shouldn't be seeing any general issue in the South anymore. If you're still experiencing issues, we'll have to troubleshoot it more. Have you worked with our Critical Care Team before?

Because they have run out of capacity and you are being shaped, simple as that. Don't let anyone bullsht you otherwise.

I've provided AH with more than enough (hundreds) of traceroutes yes. Nothing ever comes of it...

All upgrades and maintenance have been completed. I don't have the specific details for you as these are sensitive and specific insights into our network. What are you currently seeing on your account? Low throughput? High latency?

I know you have sent us tests, but have you worked with our CC Team directly before?
