Afrihost launches Pure Fibre – No shaping, throttling, or usage limits

That's cool except it's Afrihost so while it will be uncapped, unshaped, unthrottled and unmetered. It will be unstable, have terrible latency and constantly drop. So you can use it as much as you want....when it works

Thanks for your feedback - I'm the first to admit that we've had issues at various times in the past 10 years but I encourage you to try us out and see what your performance is like now.

You are also most welcome to wait and see what new users of our Pure Fibre say before you make up your mind. I am certain that you won't be disappointed.

I am obviously biased but I sincerely believe we have the best network in South Africa at the moment and I am ridiculously excited to be able to deliver the best Uncapped Fibre experience at the best prices to our clients.

ok but it says that all these packages are bound by your AUP - https://www.afrihost.com/site/page/acceptable_use_policy

Which is fine since you need to protect yourself from various violations and network security. But that also means that all these accounts fall under your shaping policy.

Anybody who falls for this is a complete and utter imbecile. So this is the new "business" package that works OK for the first few weeks/months, then we have uncapped ADSL all over again.

Hi there. There is no shaping policy on Pure Fibre packages. No usage thresholds, no throttling no matter how much data you use or when you use it.

You're joking right? You're the guys that started implementing shaping/throttling on your "Premium capped" which even stated it should have no shaping or throttling.

The only reason to like afrihost is the client zone, but there are others now that use a version of cpanel for client portal, like cool ideas, so it's more than good enough, and then you force PDF from the client zone. Happy I left after your dysmal support.

I do understand why you feel like this - All we can do is strive to provide the best experience and work towards getting your trust back. I'll understand if we never get that right. But I promise you that we are going to relentlessly try and never, ever give up.
