I have signed up with Afrihost MTN fixed LTE service I signed up on 20 January and have been advised that Sim and router will be delivered on 4 February. Afrihost want me to pay from 30 January for the service as the Sim was activated on 30 January is this normal ? i.e. to pay for a service I have not yet received

The sim is only activated after you physically put it in the router and turn it on. There's no such thing as receiving a sim that's already activated.

My night time data has not been correctly allocated for Feb.

It's displaying 30Gb instead of 60Gb for 60+60 package.

Anyone else?

My 30GB night time allocation seems to be correct.

I am also very pleased to see that my peak usage after 6AM is coming off my leftover topup data which should mean that I can buy a larger topup bundle (say 25GB) at the end of the month and continue to use it at the start of the new month which should work out cheaper than buying two smaller topups (10GB) at the end of each month.

I regret that I will be cancelling my order with Afrihost as they insist I pay for the Fixed LTE service even before I get my sim card and Modem. I cant get anyone at Afrihost to assist me ?

Blegh - Telkom has 220GB + 220GB (on afrihost page obv) and MTN has 150_150.

The extra cap would do me a world of good, im on MTN and keep falling short - chances of bundle changes + additions?

Top up for MTN (Afrihost):
10GB - R70
25GB - R150
50GB - R300
100GB - R600

Same issue different week. Ping is fine, tracert is fine. Router is connected successfully but no internet. Every time I complain it magically fixes itself.

Have you tried turning off your router for an hour and restarting to see if the internet starts working again? I hope that MTN/Afrihost are able to resolve these random disconnections very soon.

Ah glad to hear it was resolved. We're definitely looking into, I have reported these trends to the NOC agents who are looking to see how we can mitigate them
Any update on this ?
Reading through recent posts here the problem is clearly not resolved yet.

We are investigating. I asked a few posts back that anyone experiencing the issue PM me. Our NOC want to look at their account while the issue is occurring so they can figure out where the problem is and what part of the reset I've been doing fixes the problem. Then they can automate it or create a button in ClientZone (or whatever the best solution is).

Fastest dl I've experienced yet(usually 80-95 Mbps). I wonder if LTE/A can practically get any faster?
Maybe connecting my laptop with wired connection to router?

Can anybody please confirm if the Afrihost ZTE 286C router has an rj11 socket and VoIP feature?
I want to plug an old analog phone into the router for Freshphone VoIP service. The ZTE 286C picture on the Afrihost page has no rj11 phone ports even though the ZTE user manual details the VoIP features.
The Huawei B525 from Webafrica I tested has the VoIP disabled in firmware.
Axxess website says nothing about VoiP capabilities of the ZTE 286C router, support staff are just as confused as I am.
