Afrihost Pure VOIP

Hoping someone can assist...
Need to get a Freshphole alt, so I got an Afrihost Voip acc which works on Zoiper, but I can't login on the Telviva app. Keeps telling me my username & password are incorrect.
Is there a trick to it that I'm missing? I gat hold of AH via WAppp, but they haven't given me a solution yet.

Were you using your number as username?
You may reset the password.
 
Sorted it out myself. Tried the forgot password option from the Telviva app, did the password reset any then used that. Worked straight away. Strange that doing that via the AH Clientzone didn't work. Ah well...

Doing the reset via AH had no effect. But via Telviva it worked. I'll leave you to figure that out:)

Also made the jump from Freshphone (why o why) and have been using Afrihost VOIP for a few days and it is not to bad. The only issue is the min R50 per month fee for airtime. Running the same login details on 3 devices, iPhone, iPad and Gigaset VOIP handset.

Has anyone been overseas and been able to use it to call locally or numbers back in ZA? Is there a Geo block on authentication is the question?
 
Does anyone have settings for FreePBX (pjsip)? My outbound calls work, but noting on inbound.

And nothing comes in on the logs. If I dial my number I can hear it ring, but I get nothing registered in the logs
I am not that familiar with FreePBX, but I assume that the account is registered.
Is it set to allow inbound calls (in 3CX you can disable inbound calls on a trunk, this is why I ask).
 
Hi @Afrigirl , we have a new(?) problem with our Afrihost VOIP number.

When someone on the MTN network tries to call the number they get the following response;
"The number you dialed does not exist, or has not been allocated"

No problems experienced with callers using Telkom, Vodacom or other VOIP services.

In case a factor - please note that the MTN number is ported, was originally with Vodacom.

Our VOIP number was ported from Telkom.
The two numbers involved will be sent via PM now.

On which device is the Voip number set on? Or is it on a softphone?
 
We use a Gigaset (Siemens) cordless Voip phone, base unit is connected via our MTN LTE router.

We also monitor for calls on Zoiper software on my desktop computer, but don't use that to dial or answer.

I'll check with Telviva, but you'll also need to log this with MTN as it might be a routing issue.

I had a similar case earlier this year where calls from Airmobile and MTN to a VoIP number with us couldn't go through, and MTN assisted in resolving it.

I'm not going to try contact general MTN service, too difficult to find someone who'll even understand the problem. Perhaps you could pass it on? Or maybe PM me a contact at MTN?

I'm a new VOIP client with Afrihost. Nobody is answering your whatsapp helpdesk.

What are the VOIP settings required for a Grandstream HT802 FXS PORT

I can make outbound calls, but get no ringtone when calling my voip number from elsewhere.

Also South Africa is not an option under SLIC Setting.

Installed ZOIPER as well - incoming calls dont even ring on ZOIPER - but your helpdesk says the VOIP account is fine on their side?

Is your Transport set to UDP?

No worries; I resolved the issue without Afrihost.

Except for basic settings on pre-configured Yealink devices you sell; your helpdesk support staff don’t know much about VOIP settings on any other device, or advanced VOIP settings, when someone eventually answered the whatsapp support request. 😑
