I am not an Afrihost fan. I use Telkom for Wireless at work. And Vodacom when I'm on the go.

I often sit here and watch the moans and groans and people slaying service providers. Unhappy people.

What I have found tho is Afrihost know they ****ed up in the past. Have learnt from their mistakes. And are doing their best to not make them again.

So, I wish them well.
Attitudes are 100% positive from the Tech's that continually monitor this forum. Excellent .

Hit it and hit it hard.
Prove you are up to all you promise. Consistently.

Afrihost needs to get in the fibre-laying business and start running it to residential areas.

Laying it on a little thick with the paid for advert/news article, no? If you were so serious about service, then fix your service so people have to stop resorting to asking the MYBB rep for help.

It's a bit of an unfair comparison with these rankings as Afrihost is competing in so many areas. So they could have outstanding fibre but DSL, hosting, email, LTE, cellular etc. customers froth at the mouth and rate them negatively in surveys and badmouth them around the forum. Or they could have outstanding fibre for 95% of customers, but some s**tty fibre network/FNO that they have no control over is always having issues that they take flack for. And on top of all that, they have a metric ton of clients to provide support to.

So for Afrihost to be ranking as they do, and more importantly to enjoy the general shift in perception, really speaks to how much of an effort they're making.

So here is a Company that knows and admits it made a stuff up first time round. They have learned.

So, give them a break. Don't destroy the motivation they have.

If I had access to Afrihost here I would give them a try.

We offer Telkom LTE ;)
Yes that I have. On Prepaid. ;)

The problem with your network is the routing. e.g. From East London you seem to offload everything from MTN etc. onto your own network. Now this goes to Joburg then to Durban and who knows where .... the latency is incredible bad.

This is actually a valid point but we see that as a good thing. On Openserve the IP ranges are the same for all the technologies like Fibre and DSL. If clients on DSL experience very poor speeds due to aging ADSL infrastructure, that might effect the rating. The fact that we still managed to score so high is a testament to our commitment to do better.

I find Afrihost is always front of mind. Love them or hate them, they are always there or thereabouts. The marketing is strong, the brand is strong, the product diversity is strong. Their commitment to service excellence, I believe, is sincere and I actually believe they are the ISP most likely to fulfill this commitment.

Wishing them all the best in their endeavors.

Had a bad experience with them in my adsl days, left them for a while and tried again a bit later only to be disappointed again.
Haven't yet tried them since fibre but I'm happy with my current ISP so no motivation to try now.

Once bitten. Twice shy. Never go back. And all that. Service and support was the thing that killed my enthusiasm for this ISP. What stops Afrihost from flopping again. Nothing. Consistency is king. So, nope for me.

I'm going to sit here for a bit and think. I don't blame you. Afrihost needs to get your trust again. They gotta work harder than ever. I believe they doing that. Gian motivating staff and Afrihost know how to **** things up...

This time they doing things differently.
They've learnt.
