You cant do anything with that connection. No browsing no forums,you tube no nothing. Rain works a little better at work since no one here has a rain sim. My copper line works. Fiber will be just that much better.
I even offered to sign a 12/24 month contract to have fiber installed but no one wants too assist just sorry we dont do fiber in that area. But every second house has a radio dish running on wifi. Just the data is extrememly expensive. R1000 for 4mbps uncapped

What about MTN or Voda or even Telkom :sick: ?

It's the same tried voda, mtn, telkom, cellc and rain. Rain got the best connection at work. Went with them and uncapped

And if I climb on the roof i can see the cell towers there are 2 of them. But no thou shall haveth NONE.

I have been on Pure Fiber since it was launched.

Except for a hiccup in the switch over, I have completely satisfied with the service. And as was promised, have not experienced any shaping or throttling at all.

Pure Fiber = Pure Bliss

we've also been with Afrihost for yeaaaars now, but based on recent months' experiences with one of our user's fiber issues (ex CEO of all) , and the technical support received the past 3 or 4 times since March, I would suggest they seriously relook their technical support staff, as we are just about ready to jump ship.
the problem is always at fiber provider side (first was SADV as the official estate fiber providers, now Vuma), but the responses from the support guys, eish.... :sick: and :ROFL:
maybe its coincidence each time, that they are too busy to provide the real support guys and we get the guys who come up with the weirdest (turd icon), including the 'supposed' manager who doesn't even bother to reply
but I really hope for improvement, not keen to change ISP and start all over. it may just be a south African way of providing support, so likely more of the same elsewhere

I know when I was with AH, I used to bite the staff a lot of schidt when things went South, but they always sorted me out.
Gian is a bit rude - I mailed him a few times and he never responded, then again, maybe he was with a different ISP and didnt get the mails? Who knows.

How is your internet by the way in comparison to RXXXXXnet since the switch?

to be honest,

I really don't find any problem with afrihost so far for the past years. I think I use their service almost 10 years. they can't offer a perfect customer service but at least you can see that they do their best to try. sometime people complain some problems that is actually out of their control but they will still try to solve / ease the problem within their capacity.

I am still a happy customer. :)

Yeah there is difference between "rude", not returning mail and "ring piece" by giving your customers a rocket when they complain ;)

Glad to hear your connectivity is good.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'm assuming all the people who voted on this haven't actually tried to get support from Afrihost anything like recently. They are awful.

I'm 3 weeks into signing up for a new Fibre connection and have wasted countless hours trying to get it up and running. They've taken my money, but I still have no functional Fibre (there is an existing ONT, it's just a transfer of account). Afrihost's various support channels are completely useless: Phone never answers, email responds glacially slowly and unhelpfully when they do eventually respond, and WhatsApp has no idea what's going on and just responds from a completely useless script.

That does not sound good at all. Do you have a ticket id can have a look at?
