I've read through that thread and from my perspective md4e's posts were not off topic. I don't see why the posts should have been deleted or moved.
My understanding is he declined to have the post moved to another area.
You are being completely ignorant about this:
1) I AM an Afrihost customer
2) I have never asked for unsolicited messages
3) I posted in the thread which discussed the issue and offered other customers advise
4) Your forum has blocked me from viewing/contributing to the thread https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/891782-Afrihost-spam-and-broken-unsubscribe-link without reason
Since you are the owner of the forum and MyBB is an ISPA member, it is ultimately your responsibility that you comply with ISPA conduct, which in this instance you have not.
FWIW: Since I can not trust that my posts remain in the same content I have originally posted them, I have provided the full background with screengrabs of posts on my blog: https://www.naschenweng.info/2017/0...rs-consumer-activism-afrihost-sms-email-spam/
@RPM: No, I will not repost my content which has been deleted by either MyBB staff or Afrihost reps. I have confirmation that my posts were not deleted by volunteer mods and even they disagreed with the action of deleting several posts.
Feel free to properly comment to ISPA since they will surely get in touch with you about your code-of-conduct.
On the contrary, targeting Afrihost limited it's appeal. It would have been far more valuable had it been relocated to serve a broader audience. After all it's not only Afrihost clients suffering from spam, is it?Fair enough, though I can't say I would have reasoned any differently. It was directly related to the topic of the thread, provided valuable information to the participants and AH customers in the thread, and was not breaking any forum rules. Moving it away would make it lose both value and context.
I’m struggling with the concept that a post by an Afrihost customer about Afrihost is somehow off-topic in the Afrihost section though, where would it be moved to?
No.Do the Afrihost reps monitor that section?

I know it’s above the pay grade of the mods, so pease don’t feel I’m arguing with you or bwana, I know that rock and hard place feeling...
No.
Also see bwana's reply above.
LOL, everyone earns more than the modsThough as his complaint was specifically about Afrihost spam and there appears to have been many other Afrihost subscribers who were affected it really doesn’t make sense for it to be shunted off where the reps can’t respond and where it becomes diluted by off topic posts about other issues and companies being made.

It makes no sense beyond the protection of the company involved...
Sure it was, did you read it? IIRC he even said that the procedure applies to any other SP.This specific post, however, was targeted at a specific incident involving AfriHost, which affected a fairly large number of people. It had specific instructions for how to take action against AfriHost. It was not intended to address spam in general, which might involve different procedures and legal channels.
Further to the above:
1) Afrihost was very well aware of my complaint about the SMS issue since 30th May - PROOF: https://twitter.com/gerdnaschenweng/status/869484801144836096
2) Afrihost has an ECTA ticket - PJU-314-34858 logged 6th June 14:19
3) Gian reached out to me this morning (7th June 8:13am) - this was obviously prompted by my ISPA complaint
MickeyD offered to move my post to another area, but I declined, as it was topical. Topic is done for me as I have served separate ISPA complaints to both Afrihost and MyBB and I will take the discussion about their conduct to that platform.
It is unreasonable to expect forum members to frequently check back if their posts might or might not have upset mods and resulted in a deletion, hence I think this discussion forum is pretty pointless to discuss anything of serious nature. In the end I will again be labelled as someone "who bends the truth" and "badmouths" MyBroadband - right rpm?
Did you report them?I await the ISPA ruling.
Sure it was, did you read it? IIRC he even said that the procedure applies to any other SP.
one day we hope there will be a change in mods..some mods abuse power

Name and shame.
