Yeah, definitely a good read especially for us who’s Linux background is secondary. I lol’d - I read Ubuntu 17 Awful aardvark. I wonder what made them so hasty to adopt it in the first place? Unless they had a part in its development, it would have been a significant risk. There are just so many legacy and even current libraries that likely call on x code that it’s going to take a mammoth task and a concerted combined effort from the whole Linux “community” to pull it off. I wonder why it’s not a priority? The motivation is sound and certainly X could be holding up the works somewhat when it comes to more efficient GUIs on Linux.
