Is everyone else is experiencing a serious slow-down in the recent afternoons?

Everything going to the international end of ipnet.co.za seems to have 350 to 450 ping ...

From about the 1st of March I noticed that the Internet in general is slower than usual. Its been going on on the same trend. I don't knwo if its just the beginning of the month. Sometimes it feels as if US sites are faster than local sites.

Yes, slow. Also noticed that telkom is routing via the Netherlands this month. This is adding another 20& packet loss to the 30% being dropped at Cape Town 196.43.9.50 (main router out os SA).

Scary to think that the whole of SA only has one exit point to international.

I haven't done the pings, but this seems strange: a client in Durban sent me 27 e-mails with small attachments (200-300kB each) at 10am this (Saturday)morning. At 10 am, #1-16 arrived. At 12noon, #19,20 and 22. At 1pm, #27. AT 2pm, #17. At 7pm, #25&26. At 9pm, #18&24. At 10pm, # 23. So here I am, 12 hours later, waiting for # 21 (client has just re-sent it), just so I can burn a 3Mb CD and go home and sleep.

I suppose I should set up an FTP server.

At the same time i have issues with ma netgear modem[:(] it seems to ova heat and lagz even more[?] switching it of(bouncing it) for 10 seconds seems to sort out the issue?
And one last arb comment....when a activate to many services on the modem ie: buffer over flow protection it hangz...well actually if a activate any firewalling service on it,it pretty much hangs...this is my third netgear(dm602) modem/router....anywayz nuff bitchin ADSL still ((ROCKS)) even tho it lagz [:p]
