Not complaining in any way here as this is a great idea, BUT, wouldn't it be better to try and make a South African team consisting of the best players out different clans?

Just a thought. :)

Fair thought, maybe suggest it to them directly, although it could be more a case of a "Champions league" oppossed to a "World Cup".

hmm - total points in a league tourney to decide top 64 players second tourney to decide top 8 from 64?

It all depends how the finals will be scored. If it's something like "best of 5 rounds destroy the titan" it's a different story.

Just because they score the highest doesn't mean that they will make the best team.

Battlefield (more than any other game) is based more on teamwork than anything else. Often the low-scorers are the players who the team is useless without.

That's also true to a degree, although I find that in a coherent squad, everyones score benefits.

Having said that, I must say I prefer a team based approach, you go through the trenches with your mates, and you like to win together.

Perhaps we need to designate a national BF2142 coach to select a squad?
