Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the cellphone networks cannot bring this here.
Vodacom and MTN (and those other guys) don't quite understand Apples business model. If you tell me the cell providers will give semi unlimited bandwidth (and not just for the minority Blackberry users) to all Iphone subscribers you've got another thing coming.
I think the second problem for the cellphone networks is the fact that they have to give away part of the profits to Apple. Yes... giving money to a supplier of a phone must be the most abhorent thought ever for a cellphone network fat cat.
PS: cellphone networks suck![]()
Business in SA is conveniently different to the rest of the world.
I don't know what the fuss is all about. The iPhone is not a proper cellphone, because it has no 3G/HSDPA. However good its other functionalities may be, its Internet functions must be awfully slow.
Remember the iPhone was developed in the US, where the cellphone networks are years behind the rest of the world. This is not me just guessing here, but told to me by Americans that have travelled all over the world.
So get back to reality and get yourself a proper PDA/cellphone like a Nokia, SE or HTC.
The Browser is actually pretty quick for a device running Edge.
The Boys in the states are not big on 3G yes ... but why bother with 3G when you have as much Wifi Coverage as cellular coverage. WiFi rules the roost over there ... Google has free coverage accros North America etc
But we're in South Africa........So what I'm saying is that a phone designed for US conditions is currently no good over here.
And yet Eurpoe is littered with 3G. . . .But we're in South Africa........So what I'm saying is that a phone designed for US conditions is currently no good over here.
