I did a quick search on hello peter for "acer" and it returned 150 records. Did the same for "Dell" 164 records and then "HP" 447 records.

Now I know its a bit unfair towards HP because they have lots of other hardware as well, but so do Acer. I also think Dell and HP is a classic case of the highest trees getting the most wind.

All I'm trying to say is hello peter is not a good benchmark. Even HelloPeter.com has come under fire.

My personal experience with Acer is not to bad:My uncles notebook got broken he called the service department they picked it up and returned it the next day.

Regards,

Cool, I'm thinking of getting an Acer Travelmate (below). Just comparing different brands of notebooks against each other, price and spec wise before making a decision.

Acer TravelMate 5624WSMi_VB, Centrino 2 Duo T5600 1.83Ghz, 17" WXGA+, NVidia GeForce Go 7300 128MB graphics, DVD-Dual supermulti, 120GB 5400rpm, DDRII 2048MB(2*1024), 1.3MP camera, 6 cell batt, lan and wireless, Bluetooth, Vista Business

Acer may be cheap initially but wait till you need a new Battery or AC Adaptor and you will die of fright from the price.

Not gonna get the Acer TravelMate 5624WSMi_VB anymore. Gonna find a notebook with a little more oomph in the graphics card department :D
