I am running two Apple Airport Express base stations at home (used to be 3, but one died).
The one that died is now leaving a WiFi deadspot in the lounge, where the Explora is living as well.
Instead of spending R2000 on a new Airport Express, I was thinking of maybe doing the following (but as I have had issues with previously extending the Apple network using non-Apple routers, I want to see if someone has got this working) :)
AX1 connected to fibre router as is now.
AX2 extending the WiFi network as is now.
Using the AIR 4400 to extend the network in the lounge - anyone got this working on an Apple network?
Plugging my DGN2200 into the AIR 4400, running Ethernet from there to the Explora, and the DGN2200 will then provide WiFi access in the lounge where the dead AX3 used to cover.

Thoughts?
TIA

Does the fibre router not have built in WiFi?

Why not just use that and Airport 1 where Airport 3 was?

Airport is nothing special and uses the same WiFi protols so will happily extend any other wireless network.

No built in WiFi in the Mikrotik.
Airport shouldn't be anything special, but extending an Apple network doesn't always work with non-Apple gear

Aah okay.

Yeah doing it the other way round might be more drama.

But airport works very well to extend other networks.

Any chance your Mikrotik supports WiFi card expansion? That could be an easy fix.
