Airline ticket prices: South Africa vs the world

Online travel agency Kiwi.com, has published data showing which countries offer the best and worst value flights, including South Africa.

Always found it quite odd when trying to make multi-destination bookings that it was cheaper to fly from SA to X via the UAE than directly from the UAE.

For example, on Etihad for the same dates:
JHB-AUH-KUL-AUH-JHB is R6209
AUH-KUL-AUH is R8300

Despite the flights from AUH-KUL and back being the same ones used in both cases.

Flight ticket structuring has never been straightforward.
