In perhaps the most interesting reaction of an enemy of Washington moments after the news broke Sunday, Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi declared that Baghdadi's elimination was not “a big deal” and that Washington had simply destroyed its own “creature.”

US Merely Killed It's "Own Creature":

After the CIA and Pentagon flooded the Syrian battlefield with advanced weaponry during the early years of the war, such as the BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missile, more and more of these very weapons were documented ending up in the hands of ISIS, which they used against Syrian government forces

Meanwhile, in a separate statement Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei asserted that Baghdadi’s death would not ultimately put a stop to the Islamic State, and that US policies fueled the rise of the terror caliphate.

"As the death of Osama bin Laden didn’t eradicate terrorism, the death of al-Baghdadi will not put an end to Daeshism," Rabiei said. Explaining that the region's jihadist terror groups thrive “through American policies and regional petrodollars,” he said it's these “terror-nurturing swamps that need to be drained.”

THIS I agree with ..........

Dead men -- EVEN IF they are your OWN men -- TELL NO TALES !
ISIS has Tomahawk missiles?

This obituary by Rukini Callimachi is probably the definitive read on Al-Baghdadi. She's probably the leading reporter on ISIS.

And here's a good visual breakdown of how the raid went down:

And here's a good read on where the break finally came from - Iraqi intelligence caught a smuggler connected to him.

Iraqi officials say that in mid-September they identified a Syrian man who had been used to smuggle the wives of two of Baghdadi’s brothers, Ahmad and Jumah, to Idlib province via Turkey. The same smuggler had earlier helped move Baghdadi’s children from Iraq. Iraqi intelligence officers say they were able to co-opt the man and a woman believed to be his wife, as well as one of Baghdadi’s nephews, into providing information about the route he used and the destination of the people travelling with him. It was a break like no other, and was soon passed to the CIA.
