They might - or they might use DFA pay that price then give clients connections at 10 or 20:1 contention ratios.
The Helios product DFA doesn't allow aggregation over it, so Telkom wouldn't be using DFA they would use their own

That looks like mtn's coverage, don't think they have actually rolled anything out yet

On a different note, they busy upgrading the LTE towers to 100mb in Alberton :)

Fiber is just going to take to long

Check the MTN coverage map, they have the exact same coverage and vodacom in the actual eco Estate
Looked at the coverage last night, not really that impressive. Seems to only cover the Eco Estate?

That's the problem, VC, MTN and Telkom all indicate coverage in the area but most of it is limited to the Eco Estate / the other estate. Even then I don't know if the fibre is actually in the ground yet as I haven't heard of anyone who actually has it.

The people I know who stay in the actual Eco applied but the response from VC was that while there was coverage they needed more people to sign up before it got installed to the homes.

Better wait till things get sorted on AUP side.

And anyway, I do not have LTE coverage...

I hear you I run the 200gig option with 200gigs night owl. I have no problem I usually forfit a lot of data. I must admit I still have a ****ty 10mb ADSL which syncs at 6mb which I then use for any downloads like series etc.

Every month 25th I check the data usage and if I have enough - I check which games etc need updates and do them all.

I only have my gaming console and important devices on the LTE that need super fast internet. I would totally happy with LTE and not even care about fiber if it wasn't for the latency, its not BAD but its not fiber.

It should get better with LTE - A but that roll out is longer than fiber. I do know for a fact Telkom started the upgrade on the LTE towers in Alberton last week, we should be getting up to 180mbps.

Update - I see they busy doing the fibre in Vermooten street and Mcbride street. Mcbride side is Huawei contracted by Telkom and in Vermooten street "independent" ISP
