The dealer pre-orders different varients with different specs at regular intervals..kind of like a thumbsuck as to what people will want. If your order matches, hooray you get it sooner (and also pay less of a 'securing deposit').

As I want certain specs (my specs are xenon's, visibility pack, cannelloni rolls, aluminium sidekick plates, My-Port for TomTom, PDC, sunroof, 18" rims, folding side mirrors and bose sound system), it has to be specially built in Italy and shipped over here (unlike the others which have been pre-ordered by the dealer). Apparently there is also a backlog of 1750 engines so there's that added delay as well. They also took 10% non-refundable deposit before ordering it because of the risk that they might not be able to sell my spec car if I decide I don't want it.

What did you end up paying for the car in the end if you don't mind me asking?

Uhh.... R380, so it works out to R330 (car) + R50 (extras). It's my christmas present for eternity

It took a lot of pressure (from the SO) to finally sign the offer to purchase!! Visibility pack is the automatic lights, automatic wipers and automatic climate control - a complete luxury and something I probably shouldn't have gotten on reflection.

Hmm those are nice to have though, I wouldn't mind all of those. . .. but that also depends on what they smashed you for that?

I wouldnt think its ridiculous but then its also difficult to have them shave of R10k, waver the R3k 'on the road" fee.

I would say ask for R8k and ask them to throw in smash and grab and leave everything else as is.

Once again...make sure you get the Cannelloni seats. Stuff everything else

OK, fair enough.

If I get the one coming in shortly that won't have leather so will have to do. I don't really have another R12k for leather

The difference is R200 a month. Its a lot of money but its definitely worth it. I had once coming in that was cloth...luckily the dealer in Bloem stuffed up and Chatz got me one with leather. Im so so so happy now! Plus, that new leather smell is worth the money in itself.

The difference is R200 a month. Its a lot of money but its definitely worth it. I had once coming in that was cloth...luckily the dealer in Bloem stuffed up and Chatz got me one with leather. Im so so so happy now! Plus, that new leather smell is worth the money in itself.

Its a progression with Arm rest, cruise control and Tom tom thing (but then you gotta still buy the tom tom go figure)

Yeah it has very nice kick. It is the same, in fact a bit quicker than my Tdi!
