That is not actually the car's color... just a marketing job. The car is actually just covered in green vinyl... but yes it does look hideous, just like nearly every car in that color, except for maybe something like a Lambo

Okay so I collected "me Julie" on Friday afternoon (after signing forms for 2 hours!) :) All I can say is this is the best experience I have ever had in my life ! The ride quality is amazing (a little hard but much better than my previous car), the acceleration is death defying and, frankly, very scary. I haven't gone on any road trip or any long drive since I got my car - just the normal hustle and bustle because I'm trying to "savour" my experience as long as possible!

I just love the look of the car, so aggresive and so menacing! The BOSE sound is crisp - even when playing at a high volume :) The sunroof...well its very puuurrddy but haven't used it due to the cold :) The automatic lights are very handy! The climate control kinda chows petrol though!

The fuel consumption is -much- better than my previous car but still not great. The fuel consumption reading though, is quite whack and seems to jump around quite a bit. Is this normal? I mean I can go from 30l/100km to 2l/100km as soon as I change from 1st gear (+-3000 revs) to 2nd (+- 1000 revs).

On Monday and Tuesday I hardly did any work because of the constant stream of people wanting to have a look at my car at work!!! :D

Here are some quick pictures I took - hope to post more as soon as I have the chance!

Very nice.

2 things regarding the fuel consumption:
  1. It will improve. You should see a steady improvement heading towards your first service, and perhaps a bit after. Of course your right foot is the biggest factor.
  2. I'm not familiar with the Alfas' onboard computers, but you *might* have an instant and average fuel consumption readout. What you discribe is perfectly normal for an instant readout - flat foot = 30l/100km, off the throttle = almost 0/100km. Check if there's an average readout.

On the lumo green skinned car... only a yob would drive that thing.

Schweet :)

Thanks - it is instant. My average reading is a bit skewed from all the "spirited driving" I had :) I think it is sitting at about 18l/100km.

Every time this thread pops up into the top50, I wonder who's Alfa broke this time :)

Congrats on the new ride Sir.

Haha. Well, other than my gearbox I am yet to hear of another broken Giulietta.

I miss my baby. Haven't driven her the whole week. I hate travelling!!! ;)

:crying:

So I have to sell my car pretty soon (perhaps - changing jobs and this one will cost me just waaay too much..) Trying to figure out what the trade value is so I can get a feeling of what I will get, but there are seemingly no good sites out there. The Mead one is dead and the Transunion one asks for a login.

Anyone interested in buying my baby? :(
