Soooooo...my baby arrived. I dont want to hijack the other dudes thread so here are some pics :)

Its an absolute to drive. Worst thing is I never considered it to start with. I was all about the Audis and Sciroccos. All it took was one drive and some fun with DNA and I was sold!

The interior is black leather with red stitching. Beautiful soft leather...truly stunning! My phone camera and the sun doesnt do it justice...I took useless photos

Ok, maybe this works?

@Grimspoon: I love it. Car is responsive, fast (especially in Dynamic mode), wont consume too much petrol (when its run in).
Its just a lot of fun to drive and im comparing it to the Scirocco 1.4TSI, Audi 1.8T, VW 1.4TSI (118kw). For me it was love at first drive (and sight). I had almost given up buying a car because nothing excited me...then I drove this. The styling, the finishes, the leather, that very able engine....

Maybe it doesnt have the same appeal for some people but I would stress to anyone looking for a new car...dont sell yourself short, try the Giulietta. The least you have to lose is 30 mins of your time.

Thats what Italian cars are all about! Naysayers will always say this and that about an Alfa, but at the end of the day it's your car and for your own enjoyment! (And we know better! ;))

Congrats mate, she's a beauty.

Please keep us updated on your experience with the car :) Esp if you find any issues etc.

The only issue I had when test driving was the handbrake, which is in an awkward and difficult position when the arm rest was down...

I think you did pretty well, at least you didn't have to be towed away :p

halo, halo, halohalo!!!

Just to wet your taste budds regarding this car...There is a 210kw version with exhasut and software upgrade at the Alfa Romeo dealership in Middleburg. i've confirmed this with various sources but haven't gone there yet...just no time!

They have fiddled with the software...ATC(dont go there) and they said you can install a DownPipe but htis wil void the exhaust waranty only...who needs a waranty for exhaust anyway...they also said "fine, fiddle with the software, its not like the machie's look at BOOST/TIMING/FEULING settings!"

So Izzzy...go get a DP and SW!~

if you want to look good while traveling - get an Alfa.
if you want to actually get there - get something else.

Which one did you drive?
I am so keen for the 1.4 distinct. Arnold Chatz is also talking about adding a "power pedal" to it for 5k more (he eventualyl said he would throw it in) which increases power etc..
Anyone else heard this?

I drove the distinct, thats the entry one right?

Seriously impressed with this car, a little more than I wanted to spend, but I wants it! :D

Only thing is they offered me R20K less than Honda offered me as a trade in! They are nuts.

Edit: O wait I think the entry level is the progression? I drove that one.

I would get the distinct or nothing. And that is why i have nothing :)
Its just a bit too expensive at the moment, I am worried about interest rates and all that (more for my house than car).

But, if you are happy with the base model then go for it, just dont test drive the disrinct, otherwise you will want it.
