Imagine: you are a foot soldier in a paramilitary group whose purpose is to remake America as a Christian theocracy, and establish its worldly vision of the dominion of Christ over all aspects of life. You are issued high-tech military weaponry, and instructed to engage the infidel on the streets of New York City. You are on a mission - both a religious mission and a military mission -- to convert or kill Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the separation of church and state - especially moderate, mainstream Christians. Your mission is "to conduct physical and spiritual warfare"; all who resist must be taken out with extreme prejudice. You have never felt so powerful, so driven by a purpose: you are 13 years old. You are playing a real-time strategy video game whose creators are linked to the empire of mega-church pastor Rick Warren, best selling author of The Purpose Driven Life.

The game, slated for release by October 2006 in advance of the Christmas shopping rush, has been previewed at video game exhibitions, and reviewed by major newspapers and magazines. But until now, no fan or critic has pointed out the controversial game's connection to Mr. Warren or his dominionist agenda.

Apparently your in-game character utters "Praise the Lord" whenever you blow somebody away ... Jeez I mean really :(.

And some of these people dare complain about GTA San Andreas and Hot Coffee Mod ???.

Now I did a course with Rick Warren and he seems like a stand up fellow but I would be rather pissed if it turns out he is linked to peddling this sort of secular hatred crap.

I will be doing some more investigation on this matter and be sending him an email to find out the truth behind this.

The game does look real, but I coulnd't find any references on the site to the text that was quoted.

The quote seems like a bit of a hoax or an exageration, could you point me to the url of that quote.

Seems like a smear campain by ultra liberals to me...

Bothers and sisters, today we go on a quest, into the streets of NY city, to convert the heathens, or to send the heathens straight to HELL!!

/me thinks lots of NY'krs would buy the game just to take shots at the pakistani taxi drivers.

The game and people behind it are very real ... it is based on the left behind series of books.

Yes but there seems to be a link between him and the authors/publishers of this rather sick game.

Yes, I know these fictional books and the games are real, but the content of the game as described I have my doubts about...

I say fictional books, because these books are works of fiction, and a lot of people beleive all the crap they read to be factual.

Doubt the game will have all this sensational content as described. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Well this leads to the question, would you rather have your kids play Doom/Silent Hill and all the other horror genre games or would you like them to play a game that may (hypothetically) start off with violence but then teach them a moral lesson in the end. Guns dont kill people, people kill people.

Well, in multiplayer I would ALWAYS play with the forces of evil. I'd have so much fun pwning all the fundamentalists who chose the "good guys".

If I had to choose between letting my kids play a game that involves fantasy and fiction or a game that teaches intolerance for others in a realistic scerario.....I'll choose the former thanks....
