So as many of you that read the latest Eskom drivel, I wanted to find out if it were possible to build much like a fiber network with the same principle but for electricity—calling on everyone with electrical expertise & engineering as well as anyone with a legal background.

Before you blast off about the haves and have-nots, let's try our best to overcome that with a possible solution, Everyone is talking about the elephant in the room but no one is talking about the possibility to tell those who thought themselves in charge to F themselves, that we the people have the power to choose. Just 5min of your spare time, maybe we can try to start something.

First chapter: Is it possible to do?

My train of thought was similar to an article a while ago something about power wall boxes being able to provide for the grid as well by not only providing solar energy but also a % of battery capacity. But let's hear and see from those of you smarter than I am on the engineering and legal side.

You / "we" would require our own transmission infrastructure. In other words, an alternative to Eskom's. The ANC government won't allow it. It's BS that it's prohibited in the first place. I agree, however, that we should tell them to go F themselves. How would one protect said transmission infrastructure from being taken down by the so-called government though? That's what it would most likely come to.

The only feasible solution in my opinion is Micro-Grid's

Perhaps later, you can connect these up, but as Azure mentioned, it is illegal to cross certain demarcations

Funny thing is that even the municipalities who are promoting themselves as Champions of alternative sources of electricity won't allow it, even if they have they had the autonomy to do that, as far as electricity provisioning is concerned everyone is jostling to have you the customer all to themselves so that they can milk you of every penny.
