Alternatives to ADT for on-site guards

Kind of curious what the general feel is regarding ADT and whether it's worth considering alternatives that treat/pay their guards better. We had a long-time guard fired recently. From all accounts it seems like an unfair dismissal but...two sides to every story and I don't want to get into the weeds there. But from speaking to ADT guards over the years they don't always have the best things to say about ADT. ADT seem a bit like the factory-farmers of security guards.

Are there better alternatives...or is it pretty much all the same out there?

Utterly despise ADT.

****ing expensive but also useless at the same time.

Much happier with SJC overall, but obviously it’s all area specific.

ADT is kak.

We had to defend ourself against robbers as ADT stood at the gate and watched.

Their repsonse: Sorry we can't jump over stuff with guns.

Speak to your neighbourhood watch and CPF for recommendations as it really comes down to who is the best in your hood.

By me, ADT is the best option as they have two armed response vehicles now based in my suburb, they actually park a block away. My neighbourhood watch arranged a better deal with ADT for residents.

In other suburbs of my town, it will be other companies.

I'm not looking for patrols. Our ADT on-site guards are amazing, but they're not happy at ADT so just looking around right now

You could hire some Kenyans, I know part of Cape Town has a few that work as onsite guards. Too happy to get a job.

Otherthing to use is TP Link Tapo/Ring/EZVIZ cameras. They have 2 way talking and a trigger for movement, stores data on their memory cards. We find them more effective than a physical presence.

You get that C3X from EZVIZ. Probs the best night vision camera around.

The TP Link app is also very easy. We installed those at home, and even when out we can keep an eye around the house.

This is for an apartment building so a proper guard/security company will be required.

This is very difficult. You pay for what you get. Not much different at other companies. Guards in general are disposable and very little paid. I guess if you want something better you need to look at bodyguards. But you gonna pay.

In Kenilworth Cape Town, they hired security themself between residents. They then give the security food and pay them. The security can call the armed response if trouble.

Not gonna happen. I don't want to be involved with employment and CCMA and finding new people if one of them quit and finding replacements if they're sick etc etc.
