Amazon launches massive Black Friday Sale

is it really worthwhile for us to buy from amazon? Pro's and con's?

The first item not a special: Amazon Fire TV Stick 2016 (gen2) will be replaced soon.

Phew - the Roku Express I ordered yesterday is still the same price. :)

This.
Can the items be shipped here?

Some can be shipped directly. If you want anything else you can use one of those shipping services that let you set them as your delivery address.

But everything still goes through the Post Office, so you can get customs charges and it will take quite some time.

Oh, it was my understanding that it did since I always here people complaining about it being stuck there.

When you order from Amazon, as long as you select the Global Shipping option it will go through couriers and all the import duties will be handled by them too.

That is only when the product is ‘fulfilled by Amazon’. Any other third party product, not fulfilled by Amazon, with global shipping may cause you an headache when it comes to the duties, the arrangement and payment thereof.

Nearly all my online shopping is done through Amazon nowadays. I can clearly see why they are the leader in the online marketplace. Never had an issue with Amazon, only an issue with an third-party seller, but the resolution between me and the seller was an ease, basically my order went missing with the courier, but they made it no hassle to give me my money back. Their channel program is top-notch, and the business is best managed.

Only bought one item from a third party on Amazon this year, didn't have any issue with it though.

Normally find it doesn't ship here anyway if it's not fulfilled by Amazon.

Most products, no. You are right. Each third-party seller has their own shipping policy and returns/refunds policy which is publicly viewable.

For example,

This is Amazon's shipping rates for Africa,

and this is of a seller shipping anywhere globally, not fulfilled by Amazon,
