Amazon Prime Video in South Africa – What you get

Have you tried watching any of those..? Or are you talking about just being able to see it in the catalogue..?

Prime doesn't hide the geo-blocked stuff like Netflix does...

I've tried watching many of them yes. And various seasons.

Amazon Prime Video app is appalling. Can't even find 4k HDR content without an effort. Also, if a item is in HD and 4k, it's a separate item in the app and doesn't stream the highest resolution automatically like the rest.

Are you using a VPN or Smart DNS? I've routed all my traffic when testing the new account though local DNS and so far everything mentioned is available.

Nah many things that aren't Original are available locally now..

None of that is legally viewable in SA, you need a VPN.

The only reason I watched Amazon Prime was for the Grand Tour... But the rest was Bollywood... With the odd movie here and there. Not worth it. Article is a bit clickbaity...

I subscribed for the expanse.

Going to cancel now and rather use the cash for YouTube premium which is a blessing to watch without ads

This is the one thing I wish Prime allowed me to do - ignore categories. I'll be scrolling through content and before you know it - Bollywood.

And it's irritating AF to get to a movie or show you want to watch only for it to say "not currently available".

Also they also like to show each season separately to make the catalogue look bigger. Its so annoying. Just group by show and then I can see what is actually available, I got a sub for one show so please just let me see what else there is.

One thing to consider, especially if you're a PC gamer, is that with Amazon Prime Video, you also get access to Twitch Prime, which they give free games with every month, as well as other in game items and such.

After reading this I've realised that I get charged in dollars for my Netflix account every month, not rands. Anyone know how you get to be charged in rands?

Delete and recreate your payment method. How I did it.

Of course your account should have a RSA location and not USA...

For me a stock standard subscription and no VPN... I get all sorts of stuff.... some of it is limited though,. An example would be Law & Order.... Locally you can only get seasons 8 - 13 or something, but they have all the seasons listed.
