Question is: is it a A64 3800+ or an Athlon X2 3800+. It is a good deal either way, but if it is a standard A64, then it is nothing great, but if it is the X2 then wow....

Just checked on the website, it is the Athlon 64 single core. If you look at the box in the picture, it has an orange stripe. The Dual core one's come with a baby blue stripe. So i still say, it is a good deal, but nothing amazing.

Yeh,thats a 3800 single core which is the Venice core if I'm not mistaken.
Agreed not a bad deal, not amazing though.
Edit:Or is it the Newcastle core....will have to wait for ShockG.
Well it comes stock at 2.4Ghz which is nice.
Well 512kb L2 cache, and it seems it comes in both Venice and Newcastle and the Newcastle is more voltage hungry, coming stock a 1.5Vcore and the Venice at 1.4...

No actually purchasing a new computer now, all the reviews gave the Am2 processors speed close to the current chips, so i dont think its worth spending that extra, going to get myself a nice Ferrari monitor

Stuff the Ferrari monitor, it is overpriced and the color is terrible. It is identical to the bog standard Acer screen, but R700 more for the ferrari badge.

Rather get a 20" wide screen Viewsonic for the same money. It rocks for watching movies as the resolution is so high (1680x1050)

Yeah, but are you going to be watching the monitor, or the visuals it produces?

Ok, so I would like to know if gaming is good on an LCD screen? Does it perform as good or beter than a CRT?
