The 5800X seems to be good value for money, all things considered.

I do miss my old 1600 but looking forward to building a PC again when the new AMD platform releases with DDR5.

The latest round of Zen processors are sure to hold their value as they will be the last AM4 platform CPU running on DDR4.

Your article is missing the wootware pricing
Wootware doesn't have stock yet so they don't show pricing. Evetech most likely also doesn't have stock and will make clients wait probably.

wootware had stock, sold out quickly.

5600x is faster than 10900k in gaming!

I read that places like New Zealand, North America and parts Asia all have stock. The rest pretty much had a paper launch.

Why do MyBB persist with Evetech pricing. They are not the only company in SA. What about Titan Ice and the others. Maybe not a kickback given.

I am amazed at the performance of these CPUs.

I have a 1900x and can't justify the upgrade atm, but it is extremely exciting to see how intel will be forced now to lower pricing in order to compete

Especially considering the horrid service Evetech is famous for!

Out all the components you could purchase, a cpu from evetech is actually a safe bet. Unless you're doing some aggressive overclocking, modern consumer oriented cpu's seldom fail. Excluding cheap things like a basic fan or more robust items like chassis, for everything else I would stay away from evetech.

Sure, like I said they seldom fail but I never said they never fail. It's a probability game. Everything else that has known rma happening often enough, ram, mobo, screen, hdd, laptop, etc, dont buy from evetech.

Yup.

I think nowadays the CPU is the least likely component to fail, followed by SSDs. I'd hazard a guess to say MBs, RAM and GPUs are the most likely points of failure. Oh, and PSUs since our power delivery is wonky at the best of times.

I've bought every Ryzen CPU at launch (1700, 2700X, 3950X) and this is the first one I'm skipping, not because they're bad but because I feel the 3950X is already pretty amazing (and gains for my workloads with the new ones are minimal).

Glad to see AMD at the top of the charts again with some games, that's a very important thing they needed in order to erode Intel's mindshare further. Intel really dropped the ball not having any competition for the holiday season.
