FWIW - I would bet money that MTN's deal will only be about Openserve, Giro, and BCX. There is no way the CompCom approves anything that includes Telkom Mobile.

Best-case scenario:
  • Telkom's wholesale and enterprise assets go to MTN
  • Telkom's ISP goes to another suitor that can take over its DSL, fibre, and LTE subs (Afrihost, Vox, Webafrica, RSAWeb, and Mweb come to mind)
  • Telkom Mobile goes to someone like Rain

That would be the best case scenario for us as consumers.
 
Is MTN offer on the whole Telkom group or just Telkom mobile?
