Before he lined up for the 200m event at the Cayman Invitational track and field event, Olympian Anaso Jobodwana had a feeling he was about to get the national mark.

And that feeling proved to be spot on as he blitzed to a new national mark of 20.06.That performance bettered Morné Nagel’s 13-year-old mark of 20.11

"Yes I actually did feel like I had it in my legs," Jobodwana told Road to Rio 2016 on Friday. "I was feeling good at training and I felt like if I was able to stay composed and stick to the race plan I would get it or at least a PR."

What was the aspect of the race that impressed the King William’s Town flyer most? "Well, I was pleased with the way I was coming off the bend. My start was not that great so my race set-up was not that good."

The question on most people’s lips is when do we get to see him running again. The answer to that: "I'm running at the Prefontaine Classic her in the United States at the end of the month."
