The ANC is like a snake eating it's own tail. They pull all the strings at Eskom yet now they turn around and blame the utility for cutting-off Soweto's power (when in fact it was overloading issues) just to score political points.

As they say, evil feeds upon itself.

If you've been paying all your electricity bills but your municipality hasn't been paying Eskom so you get cut off by Eskom, you'd be OK with that?

Obviously you missed the reality of the fact that ONLY 16% of Soweto consumers are paying for their electricity.

Go fsck yourselves. So it's not insensitive when they cut power to the rest of us? Those bastards must pay too...

Or when they cut the factories that keep the economy afloat .... but wait .... its all about votas, chicken and T shirts with Zumas mug on.

If for the same reason they will disconnect any other municipality I am Ok with it, yet on the other hand if Soweto carry on to refuse to pay and still get electricity then the rest of the country should do exactly the same. So get over it. Soweto owe billions of rands and need to pay up and learn. There are no free societies in the world.

I hate to say it, and I think a lot of people forget, that should another party win the election, you are left with a mighty big mess, this is not some thing you will be able to fix in 4 years, not even two terms in office will be enough to clean up half of it.

The second problem is if you manage to get one term, and not another, the ruling party will just undo whatever little good you managed to get done. The state of things means you need to have at least 2 terms or more, for the impact of changes or policy to affect every one. That again isn't healthy for a democratic system as you just replace one ruling party for another, with their own agenda of what they think is good for the country.

Either way who ever takes over is left with a burning turd on their doorstep, bare feet, with a bucket filled with holes.....A big old pile of shyte and not a spade large enough to fix the problem.....

And this is the reason why I am leaving. Things are broken beyond repair. It is a very insurmountable task.
The lack of technical understanding also compounds the problem.

Now you are getting it, hence the installation of pre-paid meters for all. Problem solved!

But the people don't want pre-paid.
