It's a start, the criminal case might take long but this is not the kind of attention the contractors and the collaborators at government would be chuffed about, there's a potential of even more dodgy deal being unearthed, no one wants SARS and the SIU on their case, they are mean.

But the question is why should such a simple case take long?

Its clearly evident that there was monumental skullduggery at play here... it should be a relatively simple task to nail the first line people involved in this.

For me, the concern is we'll spend 6 years investigating this event, and spend considerably more than R15m on the investigation and court cases etc when it should be quite open and shut. Yes, they may not get the masterminds behind it, but if we start moving quickly and nailing the first line guys then the master minds start losing their ability to siphon money as the risk gets too great for the people at the coal face to engage in the behaviour.

This is a good example of Modern Abstract Corruption(1992+).
-The stadion was the abstract medium.
-Laws rules & regultions may support it.
-The purpose of the medium is to project a picture in minds, but in reality money is being channelled out of the thoughts of those having the abstract picture painted as reality with a function.
-This is pre planned but because its abstractly projected, it flowes through the books, laws, rules, etc like soap.
---This concept of Abstract Digitally Assisted corruption is POORLY understood, its a growing cancer of note over 30 years.(Fast unpredictable cycles)
---In this case the "concept" was raped, however there are much more subtle similar corruption embedded in systems going on worldwide thats not that easily detected.
----This is a boardroom upwards thing(Masterminds), those beneath that are excused as workers.

$$$$=So if you buy into or receive a Product or Service, is it a MEDIUM to facilitate this type of corruption or not-?
$$$$=Follow the money streams till its last resting place, so why is this so difficult with 1st class Digital Banks(Claimed) don't ask me?
$+$+$=By the way, this is neither Capitalism, nor Communism, nor Socialism, nor any other political ideology in operation, this is fancy stealing at a scale of note, with a technocratic undertone, this is the greatest danger to humanity today, not Wars, Nuclear, Neither health, but health may get worse.

I don't disagree at all, but this "gaming" of the system aspect that our "leaders" engage in needs to be nipped in the bud and squashed. Somehow we need a special appeals court process to deal with these things... so they can appeal to their hearts content, but their appeals are dealt with in weeks and not years.

Same reason why you even have to argue about why a residential electricity bill is R100k+ in error, it's a broken, incompetent and corrupt system, always at least one of those, sometimes all three..

I had a colleague who had a 1 million rand water bill they read the meter backwards. Apparently he had to pay Joburg water before they'd investigate.

I really wish they would start auditing this companies that was not even suppose to get the tender and then look for paper trail where the bribes went.

It seriously cant be that difficult could it.

Then any company that wants to do tenders will know that they might be audited by SARS.

But color me surprised if it comes out that the tender were rewarded to the one members own company or his wife or brother that started the company a day before the tender were rewarded
