It's a start, the criminal case might take long but this is not the kind of attention the contractors and the collaborators at government would be chuffed about, there's a potential of even more dodgy deal being unearthed, no one wants SARS and the SIU on their case, they are mean.
But the question is why should such a simple case take long?
Its clearly evident that there was monumental skullduggery at play here... it should be a relatively simple task to nail the first line people involved in this.
For me, the concern is we'll spend 6 years investigating this event, and spend considerably more than R15m on the investigation and court cases etc when it should be quite open and shut. Yes, they may not get the masterminds behind it, but if we start moving quickly and nailing the first line guys then the master minds start losing their ability to siphon money as the risk gets too great for the people at the coal face to engage in the behaviour.
