Johannesburg - As the ANC celebrates its 108 birthday in Kimberly in the Northern Cape today, the 600 employees at the party's headquarters and provincial structures face a battle over salaries.

In December the party's general manager Febe Potgieter Qubule informed employees that the party could not afford to pay salaries. The salaries, which were expected before the 12th of December, came two days after Christmas.

Sources inside the ANC's treasury have revealed to Independent Media that the party may not be able to pay January and February salaries.

Seems Cyril personally bailed out the ANC for Dec but Jan and Feb are in question. I am guessing this is directly related to the Gupta's/Bossasa etc collapse as the funds are drying up. Hopefully leads to a split in the ANC soon.

Last year there was also an article talking about debt so great for the ANC personally that Lethuli house was in danger of being auctioned. I think they are in crises at the moment financially. Gonna be interresting as they have bought a lot of favour over the years with their parties and events and KFC. Suppliers won't even help them these days unless they are paid up front. So like a said, hope they collapse. At the very least they are going to have to cut staff dramatically.

Have seen it from 2 questionable sources on the Boob recently(ish)...

But I honestly don't buy it. CR is an astute businessman, I doubt he would fund the salary bill just for shytes and giggles.

Wouldn't that cause problems for him with Mkhwebane? I am sure that can be spinned by his enemies as a bribe of sorts.

Pack leftovers from the birthday party - they have to last the whole month.

It's a possibility.. But also paying salaries to a political org like the anc would have huge tax implications and also zero roi.

Lol, I see in the article they went begging to the Saudi's for a bailout. The ANC, which is so anti America right now it's not funny goes the the Saudi's for money. Glad the Saudi's showed them the door. I am guessing if they were that desperate they have already maxed out the China/Russia credit card. Morons.

Only a fool will pay that to sit next to another fool.

O yes.. they are all fools.
They are not fools, they are business people who get business from government that makes the R600k look like change.
