ANC ignored ‘secret’ election report warning about Zuma

The ANC ignored an internal report compiled in May 2015 that detailed all the party's problems which would lead to a poor performance in the 2016 municipal elections - including president Jacob Zuma's "shenanigans".

I think JZ should stay on a little while longer. He is the DA's ticket to greater success. If not JZ, then Marius Fransman in the Western Cape. In the municipal ward where I live, the ANC received 1.28% of the votes

Speaking to the paper, ANC task team member Chippy Olver said that the party had underestimated the impact of “moral shenanigans” by national leaders – not realising how bad Zuma’s public profile was.

Olver said that the party had hoped Zuma’s unpopularity would be overshadowed by local politicians which had a good track record over the past year in Nelson Mandela Bay.

“We didn’t have a clear strategy for how to deal with people’s very real concerns about corruption and our national leadership,” he said.

Based on the local elections results, as well as the number of people in townships that refused to vote at all, suggests that it's not just the national leadership of the cANCer party that is seen as having no credibility: it is anyone that continues to be associated with the cANCer party whose credibility is seen as being questionable by people that are eligible to vote, especially since the rank and file of the party have the power to remove Zuma and have refused to do so on several occasions.



As for cANCer party supporters that attend rallies where stadiums are either full or noticeably not full of late, one has to wonder if those supporters had nothing better to do and were only there for the free lunch.
