ANC SMS Lobbying Campaign Surfaces Accidentally

"PLs send SMS to cape argus to defend mec ramatlakane ito argus front page. sms 32027"

That was the content of an SMS sent at 9.27pm on Wednesday and accidentally copied to 32027 {Cape Argus SMS comment line}.

Lo and behold, it was indeed followed by a torrent of SMSes backing Ramatlakane for spending R350 000 on security measures at his northern suburb home.

Skelm {Cape Argus} called the sender, who said she was Cynthia Afrika of Strand, and "wanted to see Ramatlakane on the front page again".
