The ANC in Tshwane has announced that it will be making a submission to the Zondo commission on allegations of corruption, malfeasance and maladministration in the capital city, which it says has taken place since the DA took control in 2016.

In a statement on Thursday, the ANC said that, under the leadership of the DA, the City had experienced a "service delivery nightmare, untold corruption and malfeasance", which warrants a submission at the judicial commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture.

"Maladministration in the City of Tshwane has now become a usual occurrence. The Auditor General South Africa has documented all forms of poor governance associated with the DA since they have been in government from 2016 to date," said ANC regional chairperson Dr Kgosi Maepa.

"This includes the R12bn Glad Africa corruption scandal, illegal appointments of people without qualifications and falsified CVs, reversal of employment equity, etc.

I could be totally wrong, but I believe this would fall outside the scope of the Zondo Commission.

This was my thinking too. But, then again, this would be a great way for the ANC to force Zondo to hear the complaints, move state capture attention away from the ANC, targeting the DA and let them them take the fall for state capture. It could be a well-planned move by the ruling party.

I am sad to say that as much as this is sour grapes from the ANC. It might be true, the DA is useless in Tshwane also the new incumbents are just as "ethical" as the old incumbents.

In one language I know, there is a saying that roughly translates as "After killing100 mice, the cat wants to go on a pilgrimage " - This cat sums ANC quite nicely although in ANC case, it is trillion mice and zillion ANC cats.

The terms of reference of the Zondo Commission are fairly broad, but have focused mainly on national government institutions, plus the Free State provincial government which was specific to the Guptas.

The terms of reference can be changed, but Zondo is unlikely to do this when there are other organs better suited to investigate such claims (Hawks, SIU, etc).

They made a cANCER cake, and now that it does not taste well, they want to report the baker. Hopefully their voters will believe them

Isn't main basis for Zondo TOR mainly guided by PP's state capture report? I doubt if zondo commision would include complaints against DA.

Indeed, but funny how after nearly 3 years they aren't fired or replaced. Meet the new boss, the same as the old boss.

"Well planned move"? Really? From the same idiots who couldn't run a post office.

Why announce it? Why not surprise your opposition? I call BS
It's the anc.. Of course it's largely bollocks... What I am hoping for is them to come parading in with some grand corruption and the da to counter with 'umm that contract was signed under your control and we're trying to get it cancelled'... I want the anc to score a monumental own goal

The problem is that you are trying too hard to excuse the DA's incompetence with half baked stories about cadres sitting in offices.

What happened to taking responsibility for you failures instead of blaming everybody else but yourself?

If there's corruption they should report it to the police or hawks. This Zondo stunt makes it sound like they are doing it for pr mileage and deflecting from it all being about the ANC.
